The Family Behind The Trucks On The Front Range

Westminster based septic and grease trap service for Denver and the Colorado Front Range.

Affordable Septic Pumping is a family owned septic and grease trap company based at 8996 Pierce St. in Westminster, Colorado. Two generations of the same family have worked on Front Range wastewater systems for more than 20 years. We pump, inspect, repair, install, and locate residential septic systems, and we clean, pump, and install grease traps for restaurants and commercial kitchens across Denver and the surrounding counties. Call 720-427-7557 and you reach the same small company that shows up in the driveway.

What does family owned actually mean here?

The badge at the top of every page on this site says family owned and operated. That is not a slogan we bought. It describes how the company is structured. The people who answer the phone, quote the work, and run the truck are part of the same family, and the second generation learned the trade from the first.

It shows up in ordinary ways. You are not passed between a call center, a dispatcher, and a subcontractor. The person who takes your address is the person who tells the crew where the tank is. If something on the job needs a decision, the decision gets made by someone whose name is on the company, not by a script.

It also shows up in how we talk about work we cannot justify. A small company that lives on repeat customers and neighbors talking to neighbors cannot afford to sell a drain field that a septic system repair would have fixed. That constraint is good for you.

How long has this crew been working Colorado septic systems?

More than 20 years on the Front Range, across two generations of the same family. That is long enough to have pumped tanks in most of the counties we still serve, and long enough to have seen what the ground in this state does to a system over time.

Colorado is not a forgiving place to own a septic system. Freeze depth pushes risers and lids around. Decomposed granite and clay soils behave nothing alike, so a drain field that would last decades in one county struggles in the next. Spring melt loads fields exactly when they are least able to take it. Experience here is mostly pattern recognition, and patterns take years to collect.

That history is also why we publish so much of what we know. The blog and the county pages exist so a homeowner can understand the system before anyone quotes anything.

What does Affordable Septic Pumping do?

The work splits cleanly into two families. On the residential side we handle the full life of an onsite system. On the commercial side we keep restaurant and commercial kitchen grease traps serviced so they stay ahead of odors, clogs, and inspection problems.

What does this company deliberately not do?

Knowing the edge of your lane is part of doing the work honestly. There are jobs adjacent to septic service that we do not take on, and we would rather say so on a public page than discover it in your yard.

We do not do interior plumbing. If the problem is inside the house, at a fixture, in a water heater, or in a branch drain rather than the septic line, that is plumbing work. We do not do excavation-scale sewer, water main, storm, or fire line construction either. Those are their own trades with their own equipment.

We also do not diagnose by phone and quote a replacement sight unseen. If someone tells you over the phone that your drain field is finished without having looked at the system, be careful. A tank has to be opened and the field has to be observed before that conclusion is worth anything.

Who are the sister companies and where does the lane divide?

The same family runs two other companies, which is how the work above stays in competent hands instead of being turned away or fumbled.

Afford-A-Rooter Plumbing, our sister company, handles plumbing, drains, rooter work, and water heaters. If your slow drain turns out to be a clog on the house side of the tank rather than a full septic tank, that is their call to make.

Denver Sewer and Water, also our sister company, handles excavation-scale sewer, water, storm, and fire line work. When a job needs open trench construction rather than a service truck, they take it.

The line is simple. Tank, field, and grease trap are ours. Inside the building is plumbing. Trenching the street or the main is excavation. Nobody has to be talked into the referral because it goes to the same family either way.

Where does the company work from?

Westminster, at 8996 Pierce St., Westminster, CO 80021. That base puts most of the north and west metro inside a short drive and keeps the rest of the Front Range reachable in a day.

The full list of cities and towns is on the service areas page, and the smaller unincorporated places and named areas on county land have their own pages under communities. If you live somewhere rural enough that mapping services get confused, that second list is usually the one that has you.

How do you get started with us?

Call 720-427-7557 or send the quote form on the contact page. Tell us the address, roughly when the tank was last pumped if you know, and what you are seeing. That is enough for us to tell you whether you need a routine pump out, an inspection, or someone out the same day.

If you are buying or selling a house on a septic system, say so early. Those jobs run on a closing calendar and the inspection scope is different from a routine service call.
